Stew Wild
NLMT, CNMT, CMTPT
N
ationally Certified NeuroMuscular Therapist
National NMT Instructor
Stretch Therapist

Founder of the seminar division of 360 NeuroMuscular Therapy, New Zealand born Stewart Wild combines teaching and research with an active clinical massage practice. He opened his first clinic in Auckland, NZ in 1994 and taught NMT in NZ from 1998-2003. In 2004 Stewart relocated to the US and certified in the American Version of NMT under Judith DeLany. He has been a national instructor with the NMT Center since 2005.

Stewart has studied with pioneers of soft tissue pain treatment including Dr. Leon Chaitow, Deane Juhan, Dr. Gil Hedley, and Aaron Mattes. His clinical techniques integrate NMT with medical and physical therapy research.

In 2009 Stewart became the first massage therapist in the US to certify as a Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT) through study with Drs. Bob Gerwin and Jan Dommerholt of The Myopain Seminars. Gerwin and Dommmeholt invited Stewart to develop a version of the course for massage therapists which will debut in Spring of 2010. The new six-part course, Myopain Seminars for Massage Therapists, will train massage therapists in the treatment of chronic pain driven by myofascial trigger points.

Stewart has developed a NMT Mastery Program of which Myopain Seminars for Massage Therapists is the first step. Completion of this advanced program will require not only mastery of myofascial trigger point deactivation, but also mastery of three other areas central to the NMT approach: postural correction, and treatment of neurological and muscular aberrations.

Stewart's approach to massage therapy stems directly from the benefits that he received from massage as an athlete. He represented NZ in Ironman Triathlons, as well as cycling, running, and duathlon events. Stewart is committed to helping others of all abilities and interests maintain an active, pain-free lifestyle.
